MOVIE ANALYSIS

The thoughts that affected me while watching movie "ACCEPTED" is about the pressure that high school graduates face in going to college, the stress ,anxiety and the pressure to have the academic achievement. From that pressure students tend to lie to their parents to make their parents proud on them.

I experienced sadness , laughter, sympathy and inspiration. I experienced sadness while witnessing the desperation of students to overcome his situation, along with the support of his friends who help to achieve his goal to create fake college.

The character of Bartleby Gaines struck a chord with me. His approach to education ,refusal to accept defeat and confrontational attitude towards traditional education resonated with me.  The idea of creating his institution of high learning is not only  humorous but highly imaginative and inspirational.

Education must not be limited to cramming textbook content and scoring well in exams. Education is not only about memorizing facts and achieving certain grade point average. Instead , it should be about learning, experimentation, experience and challenge. The film makes statement that our Education system is failing students by defining intelligence narrowly and defining success by how well you can answer the test question.

On the movie , technology  can drive changes in education. It has a big impact in our lives.  In movie Bartleby created a website for his fake university where a lot of students apply those who did not accepted on the other university.  On his fake university  students could learn and explore their interest. Their passion become their curriculum in the said university.

It is important to pursuing your passion and fighting for your dreams, even when the world seems to be against you.   The theme of breaking the stereotype presented by the education system is portrayed in a light-hearted and entertaining manner, weaving in elements of comic relief.

"Accepted" is a movie that tell me that don't ever look down upon others and their dreams and hopes just because they are unlike yours. Also, this movie showcases the important message of unleashing our creativity. As a student we should make out-of-the-box ideas to make something meaningful for our own future. Don't let others ruin our own passion and interest.
