BAD GENIUS
The four main characters in the movie Bad Genius differ in terms of their personalities and motivations.
LYNN
Lynn is genius. She excels academically and she is the mastermind behind the cheating scheme. She also uses her abilities and skills in creating and executing elaborate cheating schemes for her personal gain, driven by her desire for money.
BANK
Bank is Lynn's childhood friend. Bank is also intelligent and skilled. He is also the competitor of Lynn on the scholarship on singapore. He is morally conscious than Lynn and initially refuses to participate in the cheating schemes. However, he still involved on the cheating scheme.
Grace is wealthy and popular she manipulated Lynn to do cheating, so she and her boyfriend would be passed on the exam. She plays a pivotal role in the movie climax.
PAT
Pat is the son of the school director and serves as the antagonist. He discovers Lynn's cheating operation and uses it to convince Lynn to help them to achieve high grades by cheating and offered Lynn that they will pay. He represents the corrupt and privileged side on the education system.
BAD GENIUS movie portrays the school as an competitive environment where students are under pressure, where success is often measured solely by academic achievements and grades. The schools also shown to be more concern on test scores and rankings than the actual learning and development of the students.
The teachers in the movie are not portrayed as a leaders in educational technology. Instead they are shown to be unaware of the cheating scheme and student use technology to cheat.
The values of students are questionable because it is not appropriate maybe because of the pressure on school. The main character are willing to cheat and break the rules to achieve their goals and the desire on money. It highlights the pressure students feel to conform to societal expectations and the choices they navigate those pressures. The movie raises awareness about the important of Honesty , integrity and critical thinking in education and prompts viewers to question the values they prioritize when it comes to achieving success.
